Awaking

After my very satisfying Balinese Massage at St Gregory’s Spa at Park Royal, I went roaming around for abit before finally returning home to rest. It was a hot afternoon and I walked and strolled as slowly as I could so as not to negate the effects of the massage. I had wanted a Javanese Massage, but my mum had booked something else for me … next time I guess.

Had dinner with my brother and joe as my bro and I were going for this musical-play thing at the Victoria Theatre, as part of the Singapore Arts Festival, by Ong Keng Sen / TheatreWorks, called the “awaking”.

It was a fusion style kind of theatre, where they had part of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Musicians of the Globe and the Northern Kunqu Opera Theatre coming together for a performance.

It began rather stiffly, but it eventually built up to a climax with all the 3 performing groups combining their musical talents and showcasing cross cultural fusion. It was this last bit of the performance that caught my attention and saved the entire performance to pitiful self indulgence. My brother says it best – every performance should at least have an epiphany where people realize the meaning of the performance.

Post-performance, we headed over to Fullerton, Post Bar, for a couple of drinks and had a great chat on many things, including work, life and the future.
