Just 1 of the values in a hospital.
Did someone forget to tell the doctors this? Or, are the doctors too busy in their work that they forgot about this?
All I want to do is change my appointment date and get more medication to cover me. I only managed to change it 1 week later and that is still tentative. Next available date is 6 July. So, my dearest doctor refuses to issue medicine for so long, but also will not offer to see me earlier. They expect you to solve that problem yourself.
Come on, it’s your timetable that so bloody packed. Furthermore, each staff that I called is only able to do her work within the confines of her clinic, scope. Nothing more. Changing appointment is done by another staff, she cannot take messages for doctors, and can’t even transfer the call for you.
Clinic staff can only take messages for the doctor and wait for the doctor to come in to pass messages. So, there is no notion of emergency cases. This is a reason why so many people walk into A&E. They simply find no other avenue available to them that could solve their problem. Then the corporation reports that A&E is overwhelmed.
In fact, I think there are so many staff in the hospital doing so much paper work and fiddling around with the computer system that appears clunky and not easy to use. They should spend more getting to the needs of the patients, not see patients as a only a side product of the job.
Oh well, no way to change an industry, unless something major happens. Anyhow, the medical profession had never ever had a very good image to present, and it certainly hasn’t improved it over the years.
Now, let’s just leave it at that.

It is like that lah, medical appointments are hardly short… I personally find waiting for my queue number to be called, similar to playing jackpot.. It never moves on in a predictable manner… Priority queuing system? Haiz
Uncle Low
uncle low … hello …
it’s not the waiting … it’s the part where even if I am dying my doc will not see me … i have to go to A&E then someone will bother to look at me …
so hospitals != compassion
Since when are hospitals made up of compassionate people? Even if you are dying and are going A&E, they still think you are not urgent enough…
I think even government hospitals are profit making. So that’s why they keep pushing you to the higher class wards…
hahaha …
ok … shall not let this blog become an anti-govt blog … so must not complain too much.
anywhere, we must trust our non-corrupted, highly renumerated govt personnels to provide an ideal situation for us Singaporeans to continue to live in perfect peace and harmony.
